The Ispra-Seville Local Staff Committee is composed by 21 couples of staff members selected by all statutory staff working in the sites of Ispra and Seville, in accordance with Article 9 and Annex II of the Staff Regulations. Elections are carried out every 3 years. For all activities, in particular in relation to health, safety, infrastructure, social services, etc., it has to be stressed that the CLP has not the task to do the job of the various JRC services. Its task is to interact with them to give input for improvement, to channel complaints and to represent the interests of the staff via an active and open dialogue with our employers whenever possible.
- the President of the CLP (he is usually also the Chairman of the plenary assembly),
- an Executive (The Bureau),
- the delegation to the Central Staff Committee
- the members of the committees at both local and central level.
- to receive requests and complaints from the staff;
- to receive conclusions, including partial conclusions, from the various committees;
- to collect the information required to prepare policy guidelines;
- to implement the decisions of the plenary;
- to record in a register the main work done.
- to participate in the application of the rules and regulations implementing the staff policy as negotiated by the trade unions and professional organisations of the Commission in order to ensure they are in conformity with agreements reached.
- to play a consultative or participative role in helping staff to resolve problems through a series of statutory and administrative committees.
- designates staff representatives to either statutory or joint committees.
- delegates a part of it's competencies, as regards particular work requirements, to sectoral staff delegations.
- will question the Administration on any deviations or erroneous interpretations of agreements.
